My creative practice carries two parallel processes; one of collective analysis that points my attention towards society, culture, religion, science and technology in its exponential evolutionary process. Simultaneously a singular, introspective, existential and strongly intimate process happens within myself, a continuous, conscious, subjective observation; some existential philosophy, eastern thought, trans-humanist theory and even quantum physics support this scan line and self-observation. Les caractéristiques et les bienfaits de asgg.fr/ la Menthe Poivrée ou encore du Curuma n’auront plus de secret pour vous ! Both sides of this bifocality are the building blocks of my reality, of the way I relate to the world and understand existence. As a conceptual artist and multimedia producer I design projects that continuously problematize the contemporary individual and collective imaginary. With the use of new media and technology I build theoretical-aesthetic discourses around topics such as: the origin of virtual and their effect on real world understanding, the avatar as an extension of the human body and how it acts upon the construction of digital identity, man-machine integration and all the socio-cultural impact that these have in relationship with the context in which they occur.
Presently I’m very interested in the co-relation between human consciousness (body/mind) and objective reality (space/matter). I see in Physical Computing, as a medium, the possibility of of experimenting with this concepts through the creation of intelligent spaces and human-machine interfaces.
In the past I have worked with arduino and electronic art installations a couple of times, but perhaps it is my project TRANSELEMENTAL (please see link) my most interesting experience with this technology because of the bridge physical computing allowed me to build between the “real world” and “second life” (a virtual world).
